Nickname is Taj or my mom calls me bubba. I began to commit myself to fitness in 2010. From 2010 to 2013 I was working out on and off, struggling to grasp the level of fitness I wanted to obtain. I began my CrossFit journey in the Fall of 2013. I instantly fell in love with the competitive environment, the intensity of the workouts, and the all around social community atmosphere that CrossFit provides. From 2010 until now I have currently lost 103 pounds but the grind doesn’t stop! I am now a coach/owner of CrudeOil CrossFit. I obtained my Level 1 certification in May of 2019 and I plan to obtain as many certifications as possible through CrossFit.
Born in Hobbs, NM, I spent most of my childhood in Colorado but finished school in Lubbock, TX. I was NEVER competitive nor was I an athlete! I was always told how necessary a healthy and active lifestyle was, but after heading to College the Freshman 15 curse snuck up on me! I had tried all kinds of things to lose the weight! Nothing worked for me! After moving back home in 2013 I was introduced to CrossFit and immediately knew It was something I could really do! The first year I was on and off making every excuse to not make it to the gym. One day I realized everyone who put in the time and effort was progressing everyday!! That’s when I finally got serious! Through CrossFit i was able to find a environment to make friends, bond with my husband, and become a better version of myself! Every single day a challenge is written on the board, and every single day you get the opportunity to face that challenge and come out on top. CrossFit to me is a safe place to show up, forget about your crazy day at work, and sweat it out!
I received my L1 in May 2019 and plan to continue my CrossFit certifications.
I grew up in Lovington, a wildcat through and through. Growing up I was involved in the community and a varsity athlete (volleyball, basketball, & track). After graduating I moved to Tulsa, OK and majored in marketing and Spanish, losing all site of my health and wellness.
I moved back to Lea Co. shortly after my grandmother passed to be closer to family and discovered CrossFit at the perfect time as I was depressed, anxiety ridden, and overweight at 230+ lbs. I quickly fell in love with the community, the methodology, and the way it made me feel. I jumped right in and have been learning ever since. I want to help provide for others what CrossFit has provided for me, a sense of home, self-worth, strength, and confidence. As coach and owner of CrudeOil CrossFit I am committed & plan to keep learning to provide our members the quality coaching they deserve. I previously coached at CrossFit Hobbs & Steve Mares Gym, and am forever grateful for the knowledge and experience.
